María Paula Martínez Jáuregui Lorda is a committed Mexican documentary photographer
focusing on social and humanitarian issues worldwide.
Her work is related to the defense of human rights, social change, environmental care, and
health issues. Focusing on youth, feminism, health, and the beauty of nature, María Paula has
traveled documenting problems that
deserve our attention.
She is part of the international organization Photographers Without Borders, with whom she
has carried out projects around the world documenting the humanitarian work of different
organizations.
She is the first Mexican woman to be certified as a drone pilot by the DGAC (General
Directorate of Civil Aeronautics) and has explored the world from an aerial perspective.
Her love for volcanoes has led her to develop a personal project that began seven years ago,
documenting the majesty of Mexican mountains and the speed of melting of the few glaciers
remaining in Mexico.
She has also carried out various marine conservation projects
in Mexican waters.
In 2020, she undertook a project documenting how the Covid-19 pandemic was confronted in
different hospitals in Mexico City, which culminated in the book PANDEMIA: a look at the
front, published in February 2021.
